TF GEAR COMPACT COMMERCIAL FEEDER 10FT
In this article
I am going to review the TF Gear compact commercial feeder rod at 10ft. I will
to explain the strong and weaker points of this rod. Having fully tested this
rod in a wide variety of venues and with many different rigs, I can say that
this rod is a monument to the amazing quality of rods that are produced by TF Gear
at a truly unbelievable price.
This is a
superb feeder rod that is perfectly at home with anything from fishing light
feeders on commercial fisheries for carp to fishing heavy cage feeders on the
swollen winter canals and rivers of mainland Europe. The rod has an awesome
carbon blank into which the tips in 2, 3, 4 and 5oz fit with absolutely no flat
spots. This rod has a progressive action that insures that the rod can punch
out feeders to distances of up to 60m. It is fitted with an EVA and cork
handle, the reel seat is a superb lock-down design that will accept almost all
reels on the market today. The rings on the blank are of outstanding quality
and are compatible with braid as well as mono. But I am sure that by now you
are all sick of listening to me using extravagant superlatives so now I must
address the-I am glad to tell you-very short list of negative points on this
rod. The only negative points that I have come across so far are strictly visual
and don’t concern the practicality of the rod with which I have found no faults
except that the handle is slightly too long for the style of feeder fishing
that I do. Anyway back to the only other things that I didn’t especially like.
One is that next to the label on the blank that says compact feeder 10ft
it also says 100% Blood, Sweat & Tears which in my opinion is a bit
corny. The only other defect I can find on this marvelous rod is that for some
reason the cork used in the handle is easily stained and is very hard to clean.
So my final
verdict on this superb rod is that overall it is an astounding bit of kit and
if you are looking for a great quality rod at an unbelievably good price you
need look no further.
